I spend a lot of time surfing the internet looking for interesting stories. I just came across a story with this title:

Moon Exploration On Hold
Due To Alien Presence
It is dated 22 March, 2009.

The following was taken from two sources:

Worldview blog

USA and USSR shut down moon exploration programs because of aliens' power

Not so long ago George Bush declared that American astronauts would fly to the Moon in 2018. Russia in its turn is not going to lag behind and promises to start building a base on the Moon by 2020. The Japanese are planning to begin the construction of their own lunar village by 2025 while the Chinese are constructing Kamado robots for lunar exploration. In addition to all this moon rumors, the Russian space corporation Energia offers space voyages around the Moon with a stop for sightseeing for $100 million.

Looks like the moon will be crowded again. Programs of moon exploration were launched in the USA and in the USSR in the mid-sixties. In ten years the two countries put the flights to an end claiming that the programs do not have any practical value. However, the exploration of Venus, Mars and other distant celestial bodies continued although with no financial profits. What is the reason for revival of the interest in the Moon exploration?

UFO Threat

NASA went public with the results of its moon program in 1973 for the first time. It made a statement that all in all 25 astronauts came across UFO activities during their flights to the Moon.

The former head of the US lunar program, Wernher von Braun, said in one of his interviews several years later that certain extraterrestrial forces were even more powerful that humans could ever imagine. The scientist said that someone or something was watching every US-led flight to the Moon.

According to one of the versions, which seems to be rather unreal, all lunar programs were shut down 30 years ago because of the fear to encounter extraterrestrial beings and their immense power. Both the USSR and the USA realized that their presence on the Moon was not desirable at all.

The Earth's natural satellite is a perfect platform for aliens and their spaceships. The Moon is not far from the Earth and it faces the planet with only one part, which means that aliens can rest safely on the other side of the Moon and they do not have to worry about telescopes. Ufologists say that there is quite a number of alien bases on the dark side of the Moon.

I posted the entire story and a number of related videos at the Worldview blog

I know there has been a lot of talk about this subject over the years, so I don't know if the article truly offers any new information.

There are many knowledgeable people on ATS who can probably add much more to this story.

I really dont have a particular beleif on ufo's, per se.
But i dont find it very hard to think that we arent the only "beings" here.
I dont know exact numbers, but say there are 10,000 planets.
Why would we be the only ones who could be around, especially when we havent been to every one of them, or even been able to see them all.
I dont think its that much of a shock that so many astronauts have either seen, or "ran into" other beings.
I just hope they are more freindly as a whole than the ones who inhabit our planet!

How many planets are outside our Solar System?

14 November 2006

Since 1995, when Michel Mayor and Didier Queloz of the Observatoire de Geneve, discovered the first planet orbiting another star like the Sun, over two hundred more extrasolar planets have been found in more than 170 solar systems outside our own.

Detected by watching the star wobble, the original discovery by Mayor and Queloz of Geneva Observatory, Switzerland, stunned the world because the planet was initially considered the wrong type for the orbit in which it was found.
Since then, the number of planets detected by this method has grown rapidly. Other methods like detecting planets transiting in front of their star and occulting a small part of the light, or using gravitational lensing (where a star with a planet passes directly in front of a background star and magnifies the light from the latter in a way that reveals the presence of the planet), have become important.

As an example, in October 2006, scientists reported the detection of thermal emission (with NASA’s SPITZER Infrared Space observatory) from ups And b (the first planet discovered around the star Upsilon Andromedae). Together with this detection, the astrometric confirmation of the planet around the star epsilon Eridani, and two new transiting planets WASP-1b and WASP-2b were reported.
