Who sent 22 military police and an Army officer into the tiny Alabama town of Samson last week after a gunman went on a rampage that left 11 people dead?

That's what the U.S. Army would like to know.

The Associated Press reports that an Army spokesman says the military has launched an inquiry to find out what happened, why the troops were sent from nearby Fort Rucker, what they did while there and whether any federal laws were broken.

I cannot believe this this is as close as we can get to martial law without an executive order. Im actually quite alarmed by this.

Could this be a play by the Government to see how we react to soldiers in our streets???

Mind you this was not national guard this was US Army. This is scary my friends this happened and no one is reporting it really.

This is illegal. We can not stand for this type of action by the government. So much for the constitution

The 131-year-old federal Posse Comitatus Act generally prohibits federal military personnel or federalized National Guard from taking on a domestic law enforcement role.

Maybe they don't realize National Guard now needs no permission from the states, and furthermore Posse Comitatus was severely decapitated by the military commissions act. I don't agree with them being there, but laws have been passed, amazing the governor doesn't seem to know about these laws.
