Pay teenagers not to get pregnant, Republican says

I always thought that when you pay somebody not to do something is call bribery.

Some people are right here Washington is so full of briberies that the morons politicians have not other way to work anymore.

NO NO NO NO NO - horrible idea. I haven't read any of the responses to this story because the first thing I thought of:

Teenage girls aren't going to stop having sex. All this might do is increase the number of abortions and teenagers on the pill. But it's likely to also increase the exchange of sexually transmitted diseases like AIDS.

BAD idea.

For something like this to work you have to stress abstinence for the payout, not "no pregnancy", and even then I have no idea how you would go about making sure the recipient of abstinence money actually didn't have sex. Maybe a lock and key system like on Spaceballs?
