I only see two people in the photo, and they look at each other, not the object. To be honest I think the dark, little object is a small bird.

Agreed.

Looks like a bird.

Nice view, though.

Finally one that with out a doubt we can see that it's far away. Definitely a UFO. Its unidentified and its flying and I am almost sure it is an object.

Lets get the experts in here for identification.

Was to big to be a bird, it was over the peak of Arthur seat, i was about half a mile to a mile away.

The 2 people looking at each other, were looking at the object also, as were a few others round me and my partner.
I should have took a pic of the people round me.
i had seconds to get my sony ericson k850i to open and take these 2 snaps..then it, as i say, went behind the peak.
WAY to big to be a bird.

And yes, lets everyone, experts etc, have a look.

I think it's just a blob of dark-colored clouds. That object is too far away to see clearly.

You get a lot of tourists going up there don't you? They leave lots of rubbish lying around. Maybe it's bin liner or something that's caught in the wind. The weather has been pretty bad for the last couple of days.

not usualy.

its TO BIG !! to be a bag or a bird
i was between half a mile and a mile away, more a mile than half a mile, so lets say 3/4 of a mile

To be fair after I posted I did take another look at the picture and came to the same conclusions. It's definitely too big for a bin liner, that's for sure. And yes, I've been to Edinburgh many times and it would be bloody freezing at this time of the year. Definitely not Picnic weather.

I don't know what it is, it's impossible to make out any kind of detail.

That location just "screams" for flyerfans to take a ride....!!!

Powerkites

And you wouldn't be able to see the lines, no. Heck half the time i can't see the lines of a budy flying 50 yards away from me!!

Peace

Yeah.. I would say a kite over anything.. Can you describe how the object flew over the peak? and what do you mean by peak? the hill range to the upper left in the photos?

i live in Scotland, i cant tell you the last day it wasnt windy.

My 1st thought was Kite..just seemed to big, and nobody usualy flies kites on the peak, or near the peak. For a kite to have went in that direction, the way the park is setout, would be hard.

Here is a view from Google earth, please excuse my spelling..i was in a hurry...

Guys, please be patient with me, working photoshop and paint etc, is not my best thing.

im crap at it.

All i got, take or leave it.

its not a binbag
its not a bird

its bigger than a person, as that is bigger than a person, that would be near the peak.. the peak is about 2 inches to the left of the object.

There is no way to know exactly what that is. The photo is a bit blury, its probably a bird in flight.

And the people are not looking at it.

You can not judge the size of it the way you did. If that was so, than the people in the photo would be giants standing on top of the peak. The size/distance is skewed. The object is more than likely very small.

Your photo:

Birds in flight (all kinds of shapes):

I am now 100% sure you are seeing a bird in flight. Its wings are pointed down as you captured it.

That looks just like one of the flying entity pictures. What happened to the object, disappear, fly out of sight etc? How long were you able to view it?

Thanks

Are you sure it went behind the peak? A dark colored object under those lighting conditions (looking west, into the sunlight) could be very difficult to see against the dark background of trees.
