ATS modereators.leaders VS comon sense

All the moderators have to do is remove the off topic posts.

They're around for the duration of the thread, so it's not like it's going to take much extra effort, just a few more clicks of the mouse.

I fully understand not allowing talk of illicit drug use or mind altering substances, but it's IGNORANT to group INDUSTRIAL HEMP in with anything illicit. Hemp is not a drug, and grouping it in with drugs is plain ignorant and detrimental to society as a whole.

The food you ate an hour ago has more of a chance of getting you 'messed up' than this stuff. Less than three tenths of a single percent of any "illicit" substance means that the aspirin you took for your toe aches is far more 'dangerous' than this prohibited topic.

The conspiracy here is that while you think the forums are being cleaned up by disallowing the talk of personal experiences, you're also blocking out the talk of a material that can and HAS changed the course of the country in a postive way.

The site owner has started a thread with the term stoner idiots in it, and it groups all cannabis topics together with these idiots that post about stupid nonsense.

What happens when someone makes a thread about people claiming ufo orbs or obviously fake flying saucers and mentions in the slightest that these people are idiots? The thread is deleted and the person is warned, right?

It seems that recently there has been two major attempts to better manage this site.

1) Civility and Decorum.......

2) Total Ban on All Drug Related Posts......


Item #1) I can get behind 100%. I do not see the need to refer to any individual or group in a derogatory manner thru the use of name calling.

Civility, decorum, empathy and diplomacy are often the best tools to win a debate and make a strong point.

Item#2) I simply cannot back as it seems a rash over reaction and poorly thought out solution(?) to what very well may be a legitimate concern.

Do not burn down your entire house because the porch light is attracting moths.
Do not kill your dog because he has fleas.
There is other ways to deal with fleas and moths.

I support the members and management in the effort to provide a better site, but I would caution all to remember that the best of intentions can occasionally cause very poor results.

i saw a post by someone named skeptic overlord---and clicking his name took me to his page,,,,so


he said some thing to the effect,,,,,there has been an increase in mary
threads of late and the mods think it's a conspiracy of people doing it on purpose

i think it's more like it's a current topic,,,and people are waking up

isn't the drug war one of the biggest and provable conspiracies there is



also,,, if i'm a cancer patient in CA,,,,,and hold a special medical card

a substance is no longer illegal to posess,,, so shouldn't one be able to start a thread,,,,,they're doing nothing illegal


and ATS says there's better sites to discuss that stuff,,,,,

well,, that could be true of every topic on this board,,,,, i bet they wouldn't say that of other topics,,, especially if they start losing clicks and therefore ad revenue


and while your right,,,hemp has little to no thc,,,,,, ats will say it's illegal,,,,so therefore off limits

even the site owners threads have become 404,,, i've seen two posts now by a site owner,,,,,that were removed


if ats wants toi clasim it's family friendly,,,well,,,,, i put masturbate into the search box and there's 10 pages worth ,,,,,,would that be family friendly???



or what about the practically naked,,,,very provocative videos on the video page?????


i would rather my child read the true facts of something than porn,, masturbation,,, and the video links

or at the least it's just as bad


i bet this thread will be 404 by tomorrow
