All of the members 1-4 have more points than their number of posts reflect. I doubt it's anything to worry about.

Riigghhtt. I think it's a clue. I'm just not sure what.

Could be payment for something? lol. I noticed that 4's got posts back to 2002, so they could've been the first member that resulted in the creation of 1-3, then the fifth being created to build up the anticipation with mystery..? Then you give 1-3 a lot of points to hide the fact that 4 has a lot too, which could be payment for them to not post anything and thus keep the mystery up?

Bit far-fetched maybe I know, but what can I say?

there was a problem where when a thread was moved to a different location, the date the thread was made would get set back a couple of decades. could that be it?

You can set things like the time of post. It isn't a function that looks at a clock and then types itself in, it is fully editable code, and likely the whacked out dates are there to let us know that we are on the right track.

3 will be an existing member of this board i.e each member has a number, find the member with the number 3 to find one of the rings.

for example if theres a clue ,which is "45" then it will be linked to the member who is ranked number 45. Thats how i think you will find the rings

Nans...this post is an old clue...one that was solved quite awhile ago...check out the other posts in this forum and you will find the solution to it.
