DEVELOPING: A Seattle zoo is on lockdown after a monkey escaped its cage, according to local TV reports.

The Woodland Park Zoo was evacuated after a male African forest monkey broke free from its enclosure Thursday afternoon, according to zoo officials.

Visitors were transferred out of the park. No injuries were immediately reported.

Why so many recent news reports of violent revolting monkeys?

Do they know something we don't?

Planet of the apes?

Although I know the chances of this are rare I am starting to think I may want to return my Zoo pass for the year.

These stories are becoming far to common.

Maybe animals themselves are feeling the changes taking place in their world and some of them react badly ?? Who knows.

*Reminds herself to bring mace with her when headed to the Zoo.*
