Officials: Obama OKs more Afghanistan troops

WASHINGTON – Defense and congressional officials say President Barack Obama has approved an increase in U.S. forces for the flagging war in Afghanistan. The Obama administration is expected to announce on Tuesday or Wednesday that it will send one additional Army brigade and an unknown number of Marines to Afghanistan this spring. One official, speaking on condition of anonymity, said the total is about 17,000 troops.

When Bush announced he wanted to send more troops to Afghanistan, people lost their minds.

Now, Obama is sending 17 thousand more troops to Afghanistan, where are all the same people losing their minds?????

It seems he may just be the Magic *****.

Apparently it's *only* 12,000 troops, not the 17,000 first reported.

Not that that makes me any happier

I he is sending these troops just to make it look like we have more troops there, he is asking for trouble. Either turn them loose to do their jobs or send them home. They are not there to win hearts and souls, they are there to complete a mission. Let them go after the Taliban and Al queda with a vengeance or send them home. We have lost more than enough troops with this heart and soul BS.
