Why haven't we heard anything about Ladar for so long?

To sum it up poorly, it's a camera that uses lasers to create a near perfect 3d image.

There was talk of scanning the oceans that got me excited for it, and there's obviously other uses for it, but I just haven't seen anything new about it since this video was put on google...
