'Unknown sources' paid ex-BART cop's $3 million bail

rawstory.com

The killer of 22-year-old Oscar Grant is out of jail.

During a crowded Jan. 30 hearing, Alameda County Superior Court Judge Morris Jacobson set Mehserle's bail at $3 million. Exactly one week later, Mehserle has posted that amount through the help of a bail bond company and "unknown sources."

Hmm. Now this is definitely curious!

Who would put up that much money to secure his release? 10 percent of $3,000,000= $ 300,000. Plus:

"Typically, defendants using bail bonds companies must pay 10 percent of their bail in addition to having collateral worth the same as the bail," noted Mercury News.

So whoever that was also has an additional $2.7 million worth of collateral to equal bail???

Something is very fishy here, folks!

NOTHING FISHY...Don't forget going through a bail bondsman you can put up collateral...like a house. So you really don't pay out $300,000. You instead say you would give up your home if he doesn't appear for all his hearings. So there are many ways to post bond without cash.

The collateral only has to meet the % of the total bond.
