Leave it to Britney Spears to come up with this one.

From Earvolution

Britney Spears' song "If You Seek Amy" is creating a "controversy" with a
parental advisory group claiming the song title, when sung really fast, sounds
like "F-U-C-K me." The Parental Television Council says this violated indecency
standards and is urging the FCC to take action against radio stations playing
the song.

Though it is clever, I would certainly avoid this tactic to sell records.

When your talent starts to dwindle... sex and drug sell.

I am confused
When did miss brittany ever have talent?????

She has used her sexuality to sell everything so this would not be any big surprise.

Talent is so often left to the side while these bimbo type girls make it big. How sad.

The Parental Television Council

Man im so glad to not be them.
They must be really shallow people.
Trying to protect there children's freakin ears from the blasphemy of the English language.

They should rename it the Ned Flanders Television Council.
Its funny how there children already have heard worse and swear more everyday.
Just pathetic people really they are who believe there opinions and perceptions on everything, is what everyone else should think to.

She's obviously desperate man.
She probably hasn't had much "amy" (
) recently and it may be an open invitation?

Na, I'm kidding..... but she's clearly desperate and trying to cause controversy... because it sells.
She (or her writers/ agents) ain't stupid...(debatable i know)

It reminds me of the F.C.U.K.(french connection United Kingdom) logo here in the UK.
caused an outrage at the time... now it's just accepted.

Britey Spears sings? No kidding, I'll be darned. I thought she just stood on stage and jiggled. I thought all this time that it was the processing equipment that was doing the singing.

the parental radio council last night came out against the involvement of the PTC in this issue, one spokesman for the group has been quoted in dubious blogs and websites as saying "those TV watchdogs really need to keep their nose out of our business, they don't understand the way radio works in this country, they should just stick to TV, we're sure there's a nipple out there somewhere trying to corrupt our children"

the storm and controversy are even alleged to have spilled over into the national busybody convention, held in the small town of Getalife, VA. every year, with one insider reporting that representatives of both groups slinging "insults and expletives that would corrupt even the most stalwart of childhood minds".

a sad development indeed.

"April Wine", back in the 80's did a song called "If You See Kay".

Britney's tune is obviously a dollar store rip off of this slick little scheme.

That reminds me of a few songs by Combichrist!

I never have understood people who try to hide "swear words" from children, or nudity for that matter.

because swearwords are a poor substitution for a worthwhile vocabulary and because they lose effectiveness with over use.

nudity?!? really, you don't get that? come on. the only nudity that is generally accepted as normal in our society is sexual, therefore it is not something you want children being exposed to.

I know... It's very sad and narrow minded indeed.
The sooner people realize how the world works and what dangers and nasties are out there... the better.

I'm not saying kids shouldn't be kids or should have to grow up fast or anything, just a bit of savvy education and info on what they may encounter, can only be a good thing... open and honest discussions .
