Actually, everyone in the UK can home educate but most like the crèche facilities and are more than happy to off load their prenatal responsibility to schools. But, the government don't like it when parents remove their children from the 'system' certainly in those early formative years when they can instil all those values that have made the UK what it is today.

Let’s be honest here, you can teach a child enough of the basics at home i.e. teach them to read and they along with you can learn whatever they want after that. But, most parents (yes, some do play an active role with their state school ed.) don't really care enough to understand 'WHY' they are sending their 3-4yr olds off to school.

A child isn't born a thug it’s made and parents must be held responsible for their children.

The only problem with this report is that doesn't give an exact number of students who are doing this. It could be one child, maybe more - no definite figures are given.

If it's only a couple of students, then it's probably the richer parents who are opting to make their children look like geeks with the vests.

I don't know what's wrong with the British education system, but I know that it's broken. A couple of Aussie teachers who I know have returned EARLY from their teaching contracts in the UK. They were appalled at the lack of basic respect that anyone showed each other in their UK schools.

My school was one of the worst too, we had so many teachers leave in just 1 year.... It was bad for my education for sure.

This is why our kids are stupid and schools are out of control. They would rather make a rule against something as simple as flatus or appearance, to cloud your decision on useful things like teaching safe sex or evolution. We as parents have a responsibility of having ZERO tolerance on ignorance and suppression of freedom or you shouldn't have the right of being a parent.
