Finally a decision on the 3rd runway at Heathrow

At last the UK Government has said it is in favour of a 3rd runway at Heathrow, but why do we have to wait until 2015 and beyond before the runway is operational?

If this runway is that important, why does it take so long to get construction starting and if the the estimates are to be believed, 60,000 jobs can be created.

I can not wait to hear the reasons why we should cripple the UK economy by having a less than acceptable major airport. I travel around the world and Heathrow is far from the best airport in Europe or the US.

It is time we either have a world class airport or can expect to see flights move to Paris, Frankfort or Amsterdam and Heathrow become a feeder airport.

Until these airports get bigger and then we end up getting a 4th runway!! Brill!
