The serial numbers on my yugos are on top of the bolt and they match the other numbers..On one of them there is a number 43 right in front of the bolt handle..There is nothing on the milled part on either of mine, like on your picture...A refurb number? I'm no expert, just know whats on mine..

Why couldn't it be the serial number for that part? Isn't it possible they started the serial numbers at 000001?

Anpother possibility: Could it be a part number as opposed to a serial number?

On my Chinese SKS there is no number on that part.

you should never post weapons serial numbers on the web.

someone could register the gun in another state and later claim it was stolen.

at best this could cause you to be arrested and held till you could prove the weapon was yours.

worse case this could cause the loss of the weapon.

allmost all gun site have a no posting serial numbers rule for these reasons
