The Nevada Lightning Laboratory have succesfully been able to wirelessly power 800 watts of light bulbs at a distance of 5 meters.

This is not quiete the "dream" Tesla had, but it is another step in the right direction.

Hopefully more and more will be able to succeed in their experiments.

There are some nice pictures and results on their page too.

It looks like the idea is becoming popular again.

Just think of how many lives that could be saved every year from fires that are caused by faulty wiring.

Old idea, practical in today's world with the move to digital transmissions of television and radio as to avoid the extreme interference that is caused by this type of electrical power distribution.

But 5 meters aint gonna cut it. And in order to make it practical, you would have to construct such extreme HV wireless towers that they would constantly be subject to being zapped themselves by atmospheric charge such as lightning, and even so much as to be a hazard to environmental issues like a nearby cluster of wildlife or even people getting zapped because of the intense high voltage field corona generated.

Its a great idea tho. Just needs alot of refining and development to work right.

Cheers!!!!

They will only work on wireless transmission that you pay for, the real deal lays in zero point energy, where it can be extracted right out of the atmosphere.

And anyone who develops that, better keep it to themselves unless they wish to have an accidental death. Power companies don't take kindly to free energy items, that's why they just kind of disappear after they briefly surface.

Efficient solar cells and storage batteries are the next best thing, if you can set it up and get the wiring right.
