www.spacewather.com and
www.space.com... are talking today about a new strange "aurora" on Saturn.
""Saturn's unique auroral features are telling us there is something special and unforeseen about this planet's magnetosphere and the way it
interacts with the solar wind and the planet's atmosphere," said Nick Achilleos, a scientist on the Cassini magnetometer team at the University
College London. "Trying to explain its origin will no doubt lead us to physics which uniquely operates in the environment of Saturn."
(from www.space.com )
What could be the cause for this? Saturn is too far away from the Sun to be affected by the solar wind in this way , plus there was no solar wind to
create this anyway (hardly any sunspots, no coronal ejections etc)
so the question is - what is creating this? why is the magnetical field so active on Saturn? 2012 again? i hope it is not the extra energy from the
galactic plan we actually aproach....
