It’s shocking, but true: only Australia and the United States emit more greenhouse gases than Canada.

A report released last spring by Statistics Canada said that every Canadian was responsible for more than 23 tonnes of greenhouse gases emitted in 2005, the last year for which it had compiled data.

I must admit I have been trying to do my part. I still have some bad habits that I need to work on. The biggest being groceries. So much packaging leads to so much garbage. I need to watch this more carefully and be more selective in what purchase. I don't have much of a bulk selection to choose from. Actually where I live the stores do not offer bulk. I would have to drive into the city.

As for driving, well I hardly drive. I live where I work and so the only time I use the car is to check the mail and get groceries. (Other than heading out to an investigation.)
