Yep...I think most people who come to ATS think this way.

This thread has been a good read. Thank you all.

Reality may be more a competition of different belief/value systems than a fixed set of truths.

Maybe the authorities don't know what they are talking about.

But - obviously - if the authorities don't know, nobody else does either.

So it's best to accept what the authorities say unless you have a damn' good reason for disagreeing with them.

Just make sure you know the difference between an authority and an 'authority'.

I do respect and appreciate authority.

I get a bit uneasy though when I see a naive and unquestioning submission to authority.
