this is very disturbing..

these folk's got automatic military guns.
with tracer ammo.

i was under the impression it was illegal in Kentucky..

it looks like they are ready for war at first glance.

You can get a permit to have full auto in all the states, I believe. You have to be a real red neck and prove you chew tobacco. It looks like fun.

Fully automatic weapons are not illegal. Pay your tax, get your gun.

These guys to to great lengths to enjoy making noise, and everyone gets together to share their weapons with others who maybe have never fired that particular one, and can experience doing so. I see other men get together and race their classic sports cars. Others get together for a fishing tournament. Others get together and reenact Middle Ages days, complete with jousting and sword fighting, others Civil War battle enactments.

Everyone has their own interests, and personally, I get a kick out of other men and their choice of toys.

It's a good outlet. And much more fun than sitting around in a book-sharing group, discussing the influence of Shakespeare on Tolstoy's later works.

They aren't hurting anyone, and having good, clean fun.

Where is this? I always wanted a chance to fire an MP-40!

I'm sorry the guns frighten you. That is a machine gun school and shooting range built for machine guns because even people who own full auto machine guns (legally) can run into prejudice and bad assumptions on a public gun range.

No one is hurt and the people owning those weapons probably live all around you there.

I'd feel very, very safe living around there.

We will find more people will be more accepting of such pursuits if we take the time to explain what we're doing. You must understand that there are folks who have never, ever been exposed to full-auto firearms except in the movies.

i saw a program about a 3 day gun event where pretty much everything goes and i get the feeling this might be it

a couple of guys actually made thier own apc with mounting for his favorite 50 cal all perfectly legal and they were trying to market it

there was also someone hiring out napalm flame throwers for $200

its a real family event apparently

These things go on all over. There's one up at my range on the 26th. It wont be so aww inspiring but it will be a "machine gun shoot."

All you need to own a machine gun is money. Got to love those anti-gun laws that just make it so only rich people can have a thing. Pay your $200 tax and drop anywhere from 5K to 50K on a gun because government has reduced the supply which increased their value regardless of any demand change.

These people arent especially trained or have been through some extra rigorous background checks or anything special. Their checks simply cleared. Thanks anti-gun freaks. I feel so much safer knowing only rich people (and criminals who dont follow the law) have a thing. Way to help the middle and working class government.

Good old fashioned fun!! New sports car or new machine gun?? Not sure which way the wife would go on that one. Looks like fun to me. Those types of shoots, although not as grand, occur out west in the desert every weekend. Quite the adrenaline rush I'm sure.

These are definitely the guys I want defending my turf when the rubber hits the road.
