A bug discovered deep in a goldmine and nicknamed "the bold traveller" has got astrobiologists buzzing with excitement. Its unique ability to live in complete isolation of any other living species suggests it could be the key to life on other planets.

Bug DNA may be key to Alien life

The first thing I noticed was the resemblance to the Mars "bug" discovered a few years ago, although there has been much controversy over whether it is indeed martian life.

Here is the new Bug discovered...

I'm not 100% sure of life on Mars, but I am 100% sure of other life in the universe. It amazes me that anyone can think otherwise.

1. Humans have only stepped foot on one planet in the entire universe, Earth.

2. That planet is completely covered in millions of lifeforms.

And yet, armed with this unrefutable knowledge, some have come to the conclusion that we are alone.
