Dow industrials plunge more than 500 points amid growing fears that credit crisis is spreading

NEW YORK (AP) -- Wall Street is plunging, with the Dow Jones industrials down more than 500 points amid growing fears that the credit crisis is spreading around the world.

Investors are realizing that the Bush administration's $700 billion rescue plan won't work quickly to unfreeze credit markets, and many banks are still having difficulty gaining access to cash. European governments also took steps over the weekend to limit the damage from the growing global financial crisis.

Right now we are below 10,000. It's not going to take much to knock this house of cards down.

Did we think the rest of the world was stupid enough to buy into the bailout scheme? What our legislators did was nothing short of treason. If we can't find a way to hold them responsible for passing this bill, then we might as well recognize things are beyond our control and vote them out.

Certainly looks like there is no hiding the fact that the U.S. is bankrupt

Kudos to all who voted "No" including my congressman, Todd Akin - MO.

Sadly, you are correct. They thought that marketing and PR could substitute for reason... this is where media-based politics always fails....

Hindsight - after turning over royal power to the finance tzar paulson.

There is no turning back now unless they ALL stand up, admit they have been played for decades, and force the issue using what trivial legislative powers they have to lock down the Fed which is the wellspring of all our troubles.

We must declare 'secession' for the world trade bank and IMF, we must quite literally

Declare WAR on our domestic financial enemies..., much like the war on terror.... do you see that happening? These pretty boys and girls and their elite social club have cost the world it's very life blood.
