The ISI has long been accused of collaborating with militants, despite government assurances the agency has been reformed.

Lt Gen Pasha's predecessor, Lt Gen Nadeem Taj, had been appointed less than a year ago by former President Pervez Musharraf.

It is rare for an ISI chief to spend so short a time in his post.

In the article it speculates that the new general of the Army is appointing fellows like this in order to put together his 'own team' so to speak. Any chance this could lead to another US-funded coup in the middle east?
