German commandos storm airliner

www.news.com.au

GERMAN commandos have stormed a KLM airliner at Cologne-Bonn airport, arresting two men suspected of wanting to carry out attacks, television reports have quoted police as saying.

A 23-year-old Somali and a 24-year-old German citizen of Somali origin who wanted to carry out "holy war" were arrested, news channel N24 said. Police found suicide notes in their apartments, it said.

It's only a short article. No doubt we'll read more about it shortly as more news breaks.

I wonder if they had boxcutters with them? We all know how potentially devastating boxcutters can be. Then again, they weren't planning to fly into US airspace, so we don't know what might have happened.

Lucky you don't have much oil, Somalia, otherwise, your citizens would have given the green light for an invasion.

No, but it has a lot of sunshine. Wait until America learns to bottle sunshine effectively or run cars on bananas.

On a more serious note there is actually Chinese interest in oil exploration rights in Somalia:

Here is an update to the story.

It appears that just before the plane was due to take off, the police reopened the doors and arrested the two 'terrorists'. They have been on some type of watch list.

Anyway, read the update yourself.
