Jean Luc Robin, Long time RENNES LE CHATEAU expert, author and specialist on the subject, not to mention owner of the bar and reseraunt in the church grounds, died on march the eleventh this year.

Nothing special in that you may think, just another heart attack.

What makes this death curious is that he died only three days after being voted deputy mayor of the tiny French village.

Jean was about to use his political power to start a dig in the church, which he was convinced houses an underground crypt and tomb.
He had in his power a 17th century letter written by the then village priest that stated below the church there is a crypt and tombs as well as "parchments that should never be read", which was the reason why the priest blocked up the entrance.

American scientists, whist in Rennes a few years ago excavating in the nearby Magdelane tower, also used scanning equipment inside the church, comfirming that there is a room beneath the floor of the 11th century church, dedicated to the magdelane.

Anyone else find this a bit odd..a serious researcher on the subject finally has the political power to dig INSIDE the church....and he dies...of a heart attack...suddenly..after only 3 days in power

Ive seen several interviews with this guy, he was good, not one of the so-many crazies that there are on the subject..
He spent more than 30years on the subject, and when he finally gets a chance to go for the prize...he stiff its.

Maybe he was genuinely ill...o maybe not.

Its a hell of a coincidence.

Now hes in the best position to ask Berenger Sauniere "what DID you find in the basement..."

Yep. It seems odd to me, too. Sadly, there is nothing I can do about it.

But it is another chamber - like the one under the Sphinx's paws - that I yearn to access!

Hey,

Do you have any more information regarding the excavations on the Tower/Church?

Any more information about the chamber under the church?

I am very interested in Berenger Sauniere and how he amassed such wealth. There MUST be something more to the story.

Hi everyone,
Just wanted to point out a few points on this
1) Mr Robin was not mayor, he refused to be mayor to avoid these kind of comments. He set up all this mayor stuff with people to stop the old mayor from digging up stuff and killing the soul of the village. He had no intention of digging up the church, he was part of the people who did'nt beleive in actual tresure like gold and jewels and all that stuff... but he knew how to keep the mystery in the air because its the only thing that keeps the village alive with tourism.
2) He died of a cerebral embolism not a heart attack, and did have pressure issues before and a slight attack before.
3) The restaurant was in the Abbé's garden...
4) No belief in the crypt stories, everyone in RLC knows that, just the outsiders do...
I grew up in RLC and am his daughter so my info is a bit more accurate!
Wish you all a good day/evening, and no point getting the shovels out, thousands of people have "been there done that" so would be a waste of time...
Just please don't write about people when you don't know about them, it's quiet hurtfull to see such stuff written...
Thanks
