Imagine the logistical possibilities!

Space rescue would become a much easier and cost saving venture.

Space missions of all kinds would be enhanced with space elevator carried payloads.

We could design a whole new fleet of space craft which would only need to operate in space: departing from the space station attached to the space elevator.

Some serious Star Trek stuff! We are beginning to live it!

Cool, I was thinking about something similar recently, like an aircraft carrier in space for all space missions to land on before making the dangerouse re-entry into earth's atmosphere. It would be cool if they could do that. You are cabled up to station, then take off, comeback, and cable back down.

I hope that the cables, couldn't, if overloaded, pull down the sattalite..
