Crew hurt in crash-landing by new Red Arrows jet

www.timesonline.co.uk

The latest addition to the Red Arrows aerobatics team overshot the runway and came to rest leaning on vehicles in the staff car park.

The £5 million Hawk fighter demolished an outbuilding and left a trail of rubble at RAF Cranwell, Lincolnshire, as it skidded towards the air traffic control tower, stopping just short of it.

The pilot and navigator ejected during the incident and were treated for serious injuries in hospital.

That's a shame. The Arrows are a good team but these things happen. I hope the pilots recover soon and in good health. Thanks for posting this Thirst.

Are The Arrows like the Blue Angels? Just asking never have heard of them. I hope everyone recovers ok. I will put them on my prayer list. Thank goodness they ejected it looked like the cockpit was in split in two or almost.

The jet was being delivered to Cranwell for painting in the livery of the Red Arrows.

It helps if you read the article first.

In my opinion, The Arrows are BETTER than the Blue Angels. I have seen them twice and they rock. The showis much better and the arobatics are more exacting. Hope allis well with the crew. Punching out for any reason ain't fun.
