I'm really not quite sure what to make of this?

First there's this from 2002.....

"Osama bin Laden's most senior lieutenant, the Egyptian militant Ayman al-Zawahiri, has been captured and jailed in Tehran, a leading Iranian newspaper reported yesterday.
Zawahiri, the founder of the Egyptian Islamic Jihad, was arrested several days ago and has been imprisoned in the city's Evin jail, where political prisoners are usually held, the Hayat-e-Nou newspaper said. "

Then there's this:

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan Pakistani forces on Friday stepped up an offensive they believe has cornered and perhaps wounded Usama bin Laden's deputy Ayman al-Zawahri (search), using artillery and helicopter gunships to attack militants near the rugged Afghan border.

www.foxnews.com...

And also making the news is this....

WASHINGTON -- The House of Representatives, amid an intensifying hunt for leaders of the al-Qaida terrorist network, voted unanimously Thursday to double the reward for Osama bin Laden's capture to $50 million.

So is this guy in custody or not? Who are we chasing in Pakistan? Last but not least, do you think someone offered up Bin Laden, but wanted $50M to do so?

Question everything!

Yeah, I would question any information coming out of an Iranian news agency. Certainly less reliable than Al Jazeera... and Al Jazeera is the poster child for questionable news content.

True, but haven't we listed him as being "out of the deck" for quite some time? Is that typical of the rest of the kills/captures? Do we use a suspect intel source and adopt it as fact if it fits political purposes?

First off, the Pakistani's, nor the US, still do not know who the believed "high value" individual is that the Pakistani's have surrounded.

With such, it is quite possible that Ayman al-Zawahiri is either somewhere else or in jail in Iran (for which, I highly doubt), or surrounded by Pakistani forces (still unconfirmed and based on reports from Al-Qaeda survivors in the ongoing conflict in that area). Time will only tell, correct?

Well let's see,

Obviously
This is the exact way our current administration convinced Congress and the enire American population too support the two wars we are most invovled in. One in Iraq against Saddam and for the U.S., the other in Afghanistan searching for a ghost of Islam!
The first is a war of vendetta the other is a religous war. What's the big deal? It has been happening that way since time began
