Your immune system gets a lot weaker in times like that.
The EMP's would shutdown all electrical and electronic power
grids, and most natural gas systems have some kind of eletronic
control systems and fail safes to the off position.
So it would most likely turn the natural gas systems off.
Even the southern hemisphere would be affected to a lesser degree.
Nuclear Winter is hideous.
