Weird light went through my house!

Some years back I was living with my parents, sitting in my room watching tv when this laser type of light came through the ceiling. The beam was greenish/yellow and encompassed the entire room in a line, almost like something was scanning my parents house.

I watched the beam move across the room pretty quickly, I jumped up and asked my parents if they just saw something weird, they said a green light just went across the entire room.

There were no cars going by and the light went through objects, I ran outside and looked up, no planes, helos, nothing.

Anyone else have this happen?

Very, Very, Very strange, if this is true.

What was your mother and fathers reaction to the "green" light?
Did the object scan you in the process off scanning the room?
What quick was the green light moving?
Was it a beam of light like a tube or a wall of light?

My parents thought it might have been a car going by, like a reflection off a window or something at first until I came out of my room and asked them what they saw.

It looked like a wide spread laser beam scan, it went through the entire room in 1 second or faster, just slow enough to see. It could not have been a reflection off my window, the curtains were shut tight and there was a closed shade on the window.

What kind of laser can penetrate solid objects like a ceiling and roof?
