The world just lit up

I am in the Toronto Canada area right now. I was standing with a friend outside when the sky lit up like daylight for aprox. 4-5 seconds then dimmed to darkness again. The time was 4 am. can anybody confirm this??

I am in a NW Suburb of Chicago and I too noticed something about 15 min ago. My dog is still barking off the hook. I thought it was lightning but there is no storm or bad weather anywhere. Certain lights in my house are on even though they are in the off position and street lights are off even though its pitch black out.

Just noticed sleeping neighbors have some lights on that are not normally on as well.

ANything else happen?

Anything on the news?

Any ideas on what might cause such an event? And are there any other peopel from Toronto on this board or what?

Sounds like a transformer on an power pole blew.

Interesting...Hopefully we can get to the bottom of this and figure out what it was.

omg, im in arizona and it went from being 120 degrees outside to 12 degrees + snowing and everything was upside down for about 3-4 seconds!

Certainly is odd....whats the time difference between eastern canada and the UK?

I wonder if they are related?

That is odd. Didn't notice anything strange here in pacific northwest. Not that I was looking at the sky, but would have noticed it brightening outside. It rained very heavy today, like bucketloads of rain, so it's overcast. Did these events happen at the exact same time?
What about that LHC thing?

The sky turned to day, about as bright no sun, the crickets which were going loco trying to mate fell silent.... So bright that the high altitude clouds appeared white....

No LSD here, or beer or anything fishy...

My guess is that it has something to do with huge explosions in Toronto.

one of the wierdest stories Ive ever heard people in toronto claiming the sky went bright and in the uk they claim it went dark at the same time... saw the two threads right next to each other

it reminds me of what happend when there was some kind of unkown explosion in rusiia(?) where a whole forest of trees where leveled and no one knows what it was a comet or nuclear. that was way back in like the 1920's i think. i remember the documentary again ppl in the UK saw daylight in nighttime, theres pics of this somewhere.

The blasts from the propane factory are huge. No wonder the sky lit up.

Evacuations of a large area is underway since there is concern over two rail tankers full of propane.
