A man died late last night after a Louisville Metro Police officer used a Taser on him to break up a fight between the man and his brother, a police spokeswoman said.

Police officials continue to claim that the use of a taser is a non-lethal alternate to lethal force, but the overwhelming number of deaths associated with the use of these devices seem to say otherwise.

Whatever happened to physically subduing a suspect? Is this no longer a part of their training? At what point does the use of a taser constitute abuse? Two hit, three hits, fifteen hits, etc..

Whatever happened to hitting people? Really. If two guys are fighting, whack your baton out and club 'em. Sure, they're gonna get hurt, but they wont be dead.

It's truly pathetic, I'm all up for protecting the police but when it's costing the lives of innocent civilians, then I can't justify it.

I agree, there has been too many deaths with tasers. Maybe the police should have to start carrying the portable AED devises with them as well if they are going to keep killing people with these things.
