Yahoo reported today that the solar system isn't perfectly round like one would suspect. There's a big dent in it. They say it's caused by the magnetic field of the galaxy. It didn't say why they thought that. Couldn't it also be caused by another large object. Maybe, Nemesis or Niribu (for the conspiracy theorists out there?)

Wow! 3 hours, 100 views, no replies. Lets try this. Here's another link about the dent.

Dent Link #2

In this one they talk more about the magnetic field in interstellar space. Wouldn't such a field make interstellar travel difficult if not impossible? Wasn't that one of the major problems they had to solve when they went to the moon? Would the same solution work in interstellar space where distances are huge? Would the magnetic field in interstellar space affect how we recieve radio signals from other star systems? How would it affect something like SETI?

The Dent is caused by the Interstellar winds colliding with solar wind pressure.
