Foes of Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad tried to kill the hard-line leader with X-ray radiation during his recent visit to Italy, Iran’s former ambassador to Rome told Russian news service RIA Novosti on Monday.

This seems like a strange way to try and kill somebody. If true, I am disappointed that it failed. I also wonder who was behind this if the story pans out to be true. I guess we will never really know for sure who was behind it or even if it really was a assassination attempt.

what makes him different than bush?

i know the man is the greatest, but he has loyalty to Iran, I wish bush was as loyal to the US and the peoples real needs

remember there are 3 sides to every story

I will bet everything I have that the CIA is behind this. X-ray weapons? No, that's not part of the escalated covert war going on in Iran.

I would be disappointed if there were no covert war going on. I would hope we are trying to make changes from within so we don't have to go to full out war.

Sorry about the anonapost - work, cookies off, IT has the noids, blah-blah. As a radiologist, I find this plausible. Yasser-re-dux? Got an X-Ray source? Can you aim it and focus it's beam? I do it for a living. Especially nasty results could be achieved by using something a bit more "hot" than cobalt. Different but just as lethal results could be achieved with the radio or microwave spectrum.
