Bush gives OK for oil companies to harm polar bears

Last month, the Bush administration declared polar bears a threatened species because of global warming.

This month, the administration gave permission for companies to “annoy and potentially harm them in the pursuit of oil and natural gas,” the Associated Press reported Saturday.

Another go ahead to the oil companies. I just don't know why are resources are not better spend looking in alternative methods. The current Administration should be doing whatever it can to get us off of utilizing oil. But wait, they are getting a kickback, so I guess we won't see that anytime soon.

This is only to protect the workers who by nature of their job MUST deal with polar bears. I know there is hypocrisy in that statement.

Polar bears can KILL YOU. You have to harass them with nothing short of bear mace if not more lethal force once they take an interest in you or your area.

You can't normally bother endangered species AT ALL, and bear mace bothers a bit.
