I think these men can be considered to be on McCain's "short list" of candidates. My choice would be Romney, since he is the most intelligent,
experienced candidate in the ring.

One Republican said that Mitt Romney, a former rival of Mr. McCain for the presidential nomination — is also expected to visit him this weekend. Mr. Romney’s advisers declined to comment.
