US Commanded Boat fires at Iranian Boat

They probably did film it, they will probably release it to the media and no one will air it because it will be relatively boring. What does get attention (ratings/hits) is headlines like "US SHIP FIRES ON IRANIAN BOATS" or something else similar. Fewer people want to actually see the boring video after it's explained that it was overblown.
And everyone will come away with whatever sensational feeling was produced when they first saw the headline. That's how the "news" works...

Wasn't it just a month ago one of our leased ships killed an Egyptian cigarette vendor in the Suez canal? It was one of those dangerous little motorboats that strike terror in our naval personnel hearts.

At first they denied anyone was killed, then they did a complete flip-flop, and apologized for the unfortunate accident.

I'd take their version of what happened with several grains of salt myself..

Let's not forget that the US established that the boats were not from any Iranian power faction. They are currently listed as 'unidentified'.

There have been numerous events around the area regarding pirates within the past weeks.

Media jumping the gun and the US government is loving it. Playing into their hands and they don't even need to do anything!
