A conman doesn't convince those who don't believe to believe. Rather, a conman helps those who already believe, continue believing by validating their preconceived notions.

Meaning: to those that require actual, reasoned proof this guy is a sham. To those that already believe (a preconceived notion or conclusion) he is the proof.
