Is there a precursor economic war against the U.S.?

The question begs; is there an economic war against the United States by the Russo-Sino-OPEC alliance? Similar to the economic warfare which took place in the past before metal-on-flesh fighting; is this America's enemies attempt to soften the target and weaken an otherwise superior military entity? Moreover, can Iranian fighting a proxy war in Iraq, OPEC's sudden tightening of oil, and Chinese economic maneuvering all be an attempt to drain our economy, demoralize our citizens, and cause civil unrest at home. Could this be an attempt at a power-grap in the respective enemies' spheres of influence, while we are infighting about Iraq, worrying too much about groceries and gas to see the world overrun by tyranny? I can't help but wonder if all the strangeness of world events aren't all tied together. What are your thoughts?
