Whilst in the Duomo cathedral, I saw a pyramid with an eye emblazoned in fire on one of the pillars, is this a sign of the Illumanti?
I would have taken a picture but I didnt have a camera....
If anyone can find a pic it'd be cool....

FYI the cathedral was built around 1350

Interesting. Here you've got the start of Medieval and Renaissance banking dynasties working in conjunction with the Catholic church. I'd like to see a picture too.

Yes, the symbol you describe is one connected to the Illuminati. The link below is a reasonably well thought out basic outline of the group.

Found this on the internet::

An inscription in the Duomo at Milan reads, "X. et P. Christi. Nomina. Sancta. Tenei."

I didnt personally see it, but it was on a Free Mason type website, anyone know what it means?

The info you gave about the symbol and the inscription are included in Albert Pike's book of Freemasonic 'Morals & Dogma'. The statement is relevant to the 18th (Knight of the Rose Croix) degree of Freemasonry.

X. et P. Christi. Nomina. Sancta. Tenei

The CROSS, X, was the Sign of the Creative Wisdom or Logos, the Son of God

The Tau Cross represents a more historic and accurate representation of the cross on which Christ would have would have been crucified.

Resh is the Hebrew word meaning 'Head' or 'The Highest'

According to Pike "We constantly see the Tau and the Resh united thus P .

So it looks as if the X and P relate to Christ, as does the word Christi. Nomina, I believe means 'Name' and 'Sancta' usually mean 'Holy'

I was unable to work out what 'Tenei' is, but the rest possibly means "The logos and the cross. The holy name of Christ". (My Latin is somewhat rusty, so any Latin scholars, please feel free to corect me if I am wrong)
