Is the next President going to retain the Presidentail powers vested to him/her by Bush?

Bush has given a lot of new powers to himself by passing a lot of laws that make it seem like he's a dictator. People have said that these laws were bad and would give him too much power. The two current Democratic candidates have been arguing against many of these policies that Bush has set in place. When the next President is in power will the next President then continue the use of the powers that were granted to him/her by the Bush administration? Will it even matter if the Bush administration is out of power if the laws they set are still in place? What will happen?
