I can has a Fridge? - brand, features, price, stores?

I'm in the market for a new Fridge.

I've been looking around for two days and I -think- my price range is in the $800-1200 range...maybe a little less.

I tend to like top freezer compartments, but if it has an ice maker, then I'd consider bottom freezers.

Don't really have the space for a double door, cafe door, and don't want geegaws in the door like water or ice...I guess ice only chipped, crushed, would be cool. (har, har)

Color unimportant, size, 18 cu ft, more or less.

Dimensions 66.5x36", regular depth 33-36" incl. handle, from wall. Fits under overhead cabinets in the back, but front hinge can add an inch NP.


I'm looking at Sears and Lowes and Best Buy (USA).

I'd like the old one put in basement or taken away (thoughts?) the old one still works but light is out and mag strip around bottom is shot. Most stores will do for about $10 bucks. (model # 363.9731738, Kenmore. Model # 97317'; can't really find a replacement stripping.). Could duct tape it back in place in a pinch.
