The NSA recently visited one of my favorite websites, Cryptogon. The link below gives a bit of background on the visit.

Cryptogon

I was very interested in the reference link they followed to get there because many of the sites listed are also on my "favorites" list. That kind of freaked me out a bit, for obvious reasons. But then I thought, "Cool", because it introduced me to so many other links I would have never found but probably need to read. Here you go:

Links

So thanks NSA for helping to wake up more people, though I'm sure that wasn't the intent. And thanks to Cryptogon for having the balls to post the event. You woke me up long ago.

It really got me wondering - Why do they care about those particular articles? Are they just checking the pulse of the internet at large or is there something in particular they are looking for?

I'd love to have a reference thread for sites that have been verifiably visited by te NSA or any other intelligence gathering agency, maybe it would help us to put the pieces of the puzzle together. I'm sure we could probably start with ATS.

Maybe its just a regular employee who is surfing the net....and nothing to do with spying or anything of a conspiracy nature.

Many people in the military/gov surf sites and if anyone ran their IP it would show as a government IP addy....as they are doing it from work.

I have surfed this site from a government computer....located at the library!

Conspiracy or not, these links are food for thought. Over 50% of the links have some sort of survival info. and most of the others are related to global issues. Even if the random employee cruises these sites, the subject of these sites are most likely not coincidence and deserves research and deeper thought. I find it quite disturbing that an employee of the NSA has this combination of links, even if the employee is the window washer.
Thank you Kosmic for the heads up, this will keep me busy for a while.

Maybe I am misunderstanding what I am reading but I think the NSA referenced or accessed Cryptogon as one of the links on this unsuspecting person's page. In other words, the NSA was purusing the links and Cryptogon was one of them. The NSA accessed Cryptogon and checked out the links related to Ocean Thermal Energy.

So, someone at the NSA is going down rabbit holes. I just think it would be interesting to know which ones. And, of course it's always great fun to speculate why.

Isnt it fantastic that nowdays we can spy right back at them?

"You´re looking at me? I know, because I´m looking at YOU"

Excellent thread idea.

I really wonder how they got to tracking this guy's internet activities. The site he is registered on, COTSE is supposed to be secure from what I can tell from my poking around. I am really curious, but too chicken, to know more.

There are some great links though!
