The book is a story about the division between science and religion (religion more than spirituality) but it is also a story about subversion, struggle between groups who use illusory fronts and the use of high technology to create new disinformational systems behind which materialism rules.

As such, it is excruciatingly relevant by topic.

Anonymous versus Scientology is similar to the battle in the book: a pseudo-religious cult using technobabble locked in a struggle with a technologically superior group whose outward appearance is even more sinister and "negative".

Interesting sounding book, and relevant. I'll need to take a look and give it a good read! Thanks Mate.

It's not his best book or anything like that, but it's subject matter stuck in my mind lately, especially in the context of how UFOlogy has shifted from nuts and bolts and dissecting alien bodies to a lot more mysticism and inductive reasoning.
