The FBI released audio recordings Wednesday of fugitive mobster James “Whitey” Bulger in hopes that he will be recognized by someone who comes in contact with him.
The audio recordings are from FBI wiretaps and being released because the bureau “believes the international exposure of the recordings will be beneficial to the fugitive investigation,” the agency said in a statement.
Although the recordings were made before Bulger was indicted and became a fugitive, the Bulger Fugitive Task Force said “the unique sound of Bulger’s voice” might be recognizable.
