GUANTANAMO BAY NAVAL BASE, Cuba — The chief of the U.S. military said Sunday he favors closing the prison here as soon as possible because he believes negative publicity worldwide about treatment of terrorist suspects has been "pretty damaging" to the image of the United States.

Right, salvage Guantanamo Bay so save the US's image! HAHA. It might help some but I believe the real reason is so that they can open a New Guantanamo Bay and keep it a Secret so they can continue the torture and bypass all the politics in Washington.

No there is a way to repair everything even the tarnished image of the United States. Is it going to happen while Bush is in office? No, not a chance. Or even when the next president comes into office? No! It will be a very long time but I believe it is possible, but maybe im crazy? Who know's.
