Unidentified Object Over Canada

A video of what appears to be an object trailing a dark spiralling plume behind it and plummeting toward Prince Edward Island's Northumberland Strait is the focus of intense speculation.

Well , I'm no expert , but if that was a piece of space debri or meteor wouldn't we be able to trace ? And wouldn't leave a noticeable impact print on the ground somewhere ?

It's a plane contrail. It only looks black because you are seeing its shadow. Just like all the rest of the clouds in the picture.
