SINGAPORE (Reuters) - Gold extended gains on Friday and hit a record high near $900 an ounce, driven by speculative buying after comments by the Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke sparked speculation of further rate cuts.

I've heard speculations that gold will reach $1,000 an ounce by the summer. I think it's a great "insurance" investment but I don't know how well people actually do trying to buy/sell for profit.

Ha, when it is high that is the worst time to get Gold, it will drop back down to $600 oz then you'll be crying. People who have been sitting on gold when it was low are making a mint now.
