Looks like they are in pre-production to remake the classic 1951 movie "The Day The Earth Stood Still".

Cast

* Keanu Reeves as Klaatu.[1]
* Jennifer Connelly has signed on to play Helen Benson.[2]
* Kathy Bates is in negotiations for a role.[2]
* Jon Hamm as Dr. Granier, a NASA official who recruits Helen into a scientific team investigating Klaatu.[3]

This has been confirmed in the IMDB and you can find it HERE IN WIKIPEDIA

I personally never seen the classic, but I look forward to seeing this when released.

No one has made any mention in who is going to play GORT

Just kidding

This just happens to be one of my favorite films and I look foward to seeing it, and to see how the new production weaves the tale of a warning to mankind and his distuctive ways.
I also hope that they don't make a patsy out of KLATU in this flick, because in the original he was sturn and serious with his message and mission for minkind.

This is one of my favorite classic movies!

I know a lot of folks say that Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure was Keanu Reeve's best role, but I think he can pull it off.

I just hope they don't screw this up like they do nearly every other remake.
