The Earth doesn't need to stop spinning for a pole shift to take place - the dynamo core in the Earth just flips its polarity.
Pole shifts by all accounts have taken place in the past, and our distant ancestors survived, or else we wouldn't be here. The solar wind whizzing
pass the upper atmosphere would probably be enough to generate a makeshift 'bubble' around the Earth and protect it from damaging radiation.
But the next pole shift isn't going to be for a very, very, very, VERY, very long time. Again, nothing big like Planet X is going to happen in our
meagre lifespan. And so what if it does come? You'll be dead just like everyone else, there's nothing you can do about it, so just get over it
already.
End of story.
