I have a four year old child and as a Father I do not want my daughter seeing anything tasteless on TV. However I think the JJ thing is totally blown out of proportion. How many times have you seen nip slips, upskirts, more than revealing outfits(Im sounding like I'm promoting a porn site). I know I have seen more than my share. Yet these things go unaccounted for, at least as far as the worldy level that jj has gone. I mean you can go back to Andrew Dice Clay at the MTV awards, Jennifer Anistons-Britney Spears-Jay Lo-etc.. Nipples cutting glass. I've seen flashers on The Today Show(outside the window). As the media is reporting on this subject, they continously run footage, show pictures, close-ups of the incident. They say how disgusted they are, but the keep running it over and over. There is so many sexual inuendos on prime time tv. I think they need to look at the overall scheme of things, rather than the FCC investigating A Boob, a fake boob for that matter, with a piercing that covered damn near everything. Ive seen more breast on the Miss America Pagent then JJ. Pretty soon Idiots like the lady that filed a lawsuit will be suing radio personalities because their sexy voice made them veer off the road. Is this what America has come to?

Watch most any european TV or just go to the beach and you will see nudity.

Not at all.

Nude peoples are allowed ONLY at some special beach. And when they leave the beach, they can't do it naked. And topless is not very well seen by the vast majority of the peoples. Women will be in troubles with the police force if they are walking topless in a public place.

At that age, then it's your responsibility to keep her away from "tasteless TV."

Nudity......Excepted? I highly doubt that.
The fact of the matter is that our society is so caught up in such physical superfical lifestyles, that most women cannot even go out without 10 pounds of makeup!

Sorry to hear that Amuk, I am ugly as well, and would not be caught dead naked (I would prefer to be set fire to with clothes on).

In Canada women are allowed to go topless now, not totally nude though. I think this law is fair, since men often do not wear tops, walk around without a shirt on mowing their lawn. It is discriminatory to not allow women that same right. It is up to their discression of course, and you rarely see anyone going around topless. Just, having it so they can, if they wanted to, makes it fair.

I think the JJ thing was blown out of proportion also, I mean that other rap song that was shown, the singer was practically raping the girls on stage, while touching his crotch. This to me, was worse than the quick flash by JJ, which I am sure will not scar any children for life, as they have probably seen their parents naked before.

Nudity has never been a problem at our house we did not parade around naked but we were not embarassed by it either, it some one happened to see someone else it was no big deal.

This is a sticky deal though, I can understand people not wanting to see people running around naked. BUT if it is just for religious reasons then I have a problem with it.

If you would stop people from going naked for the christians shouldnt you stop women from going out unvieled because it might offend the Muslims?

See what I mean

I think that as a right, religion would not over ride it, but would cause them to have to respect the religion, such as not barging into a religious house naked to offend people.

In my house no one really sees anyone else naked, unless they are a baby who is just born or very young. Embarassment seems a natural reaction to such an embarassing thing. I would not want to ever be seen naked, family, or not.

Strange how you say you are ugly, yet do not care about this matter Amuk. Perhaps you were raised in a specific way to develop this train of thought?

Oh I see, just saw your other post. Well, even if you are old, surely you would not want to be seen naked then?

It was a joke........ Jezzz

I wasnt raised any specfic way to "train" me for this we just lived crowded and didnt pay that much attention to it. A baby is not embarressed to be naked, that is something it has to be trained to do. I am not saying everyone should go naked all the time I just dont see the big deal in it.

Sorry, it is just you seemed so nonchalant, I had to know if any specific method was used.

Well...crowded atmosphere, with press on paying no mind to nudity, this could be considered a method of specific training in my mind.

I think you are wrong about babies not caring about nudity, well it depends on what you consider baby. Young children seemed train to be afraid of being seen naked, perhaps an evolutionary reaction, to avoid being raped, or attacked by adults.

In mosty the United States society people think nudity just has to be something sexual. People have gotten it twisted I say.

Quest do you have any children? They have no trouble with nudity. It is the parent that teach them this.

It is possible it is twisted somewhat, since some parents care for their children, yet it seems many adults would rape or sexually abuse young children, due to their attractions to them.

With this, young children are often encouraged to wear a lot of clothes, so as not to provoke adults.

I am only 17, and have no children. I just try my best to have a complete knowledge of children, through observation and research.

I do not think children naturally have no problem with this, it is merely a grandiose image in your mind, perhaps entrenched through teachings that children are peaceful and carefree. This is not true, besides, it makes sense they would have fear to hide their bodies, at least until they are strong enough to hold back attackers, or unwanted people trying to have sex with them, as could happen in nature.

I think that clothing is the right thing to do as we are civilized and it's part of our society. I don't think that nudity should be outlawed, at least not for all the pretty people.
